Colombo Port reaches maximum capacity for freight containers

Colombo (News 1st) ; The capacity at terminals at the Colombo Port are nearing maximum capacity. General Daya Ratnayake , the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Port Authority said around 26,000 freight containers are at Colombo Port. He said, the maximum capacity at the Colombo Port is 30,000 freight containers. He said the SLPA now faces an issue with regard to space as sea freight is continuing as usual and requested importers to take away their freight containers from the Colombo Port as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience.
