Colombo (News 1st) - Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa notes that this an important time period and that the Parliament and President must work together to develop the country.
PM Rajapaksa believes that the country can never be developed if the President goes one way and the Parliament goes another. He noted that this was evident over the past 5 years. PM Rajapaksa added that whether the country moves forward would depend on the Government elected by the people during the upcoming election.
The Prime Minister expressed these views today (Feb 28) when he attended an event at the Pilagoda, Poorwarama Temple in Baddegama. The prime minister arrived at the temple to handover the epistle for the position of the judicial sanga - nayaka to Chief Incumbent Ven.Sumedha Thero.
