Colombo (News 1st): Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa attended a religious event in Horuwpathana this morning (Jan 25). The newly constructed Buddha statue of Kudugama Sri Kodagama Sri Bodhimalu Viharaya in Horowpatana was unveiled under the auspices of the Prime Minister.
Speaking at the event PM Rajapaksa noted that they have noticed that, when they are united as a family other politicians tend to condemn them. He noted that those who criticize them consider unity as a crime and it is unfortunate. He added that while they are united as a family, they have to come together as a country too. He stressed that only then will they be able to move forward as a country.
The Prime Minister also commented on the shortage of fertilizer in the country.
"I was informed that there is no shortage of fertilizer. They have not paid for fertilizers. They didn't send fertilizers because there was an outstanding payment. We informed that we have settled half of the payment. They have now brought the fertilizer."
