Attorney General orders CCD to obtain warrant for the arrest of interdicted High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya

Colombo (News 1st): Attorney General Dappula De Livera this evening instructed the Director of the Colombo Crimes Division to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Interdicted High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya. This is for the charge of engaging in a telephone conversation with then State Minister MP Ranjan Ramanayake, with regard to a case which was taken up when Gihan Pilapitiya was the Colombo Chief Magistrate. The Attorney General also instructed the Director of the Colombo Crimes Division to take necessary action to file a case in court against Ranjan Ramanayake - already in remand custody - and Gihan Pilapitiya under several charges including providing false evidence.
