Suspect arrested for inhumane murder of a dog

Colombo (News 1st) - A suspect was arrested from the Kobeiganei area for inhumanely shooting and killing a dog. The suspect was produced before the Nikaweratiya magistrate yesterday (Jan 20) and was remanded till the 3rd of February. The investigation was conducted by the Kobeigane police based on a phone call they received regarding a video that showed a dog being shot with an air rifle in an animal farm. The police have recorded statements from the workers of the farm and had presented them to the Nikaweratiya magistrate on the 16th of this month. The security officer of the farm and the alleged air rifle was taken into custody by the police.
