Sri Lankan national arrested for smuggling 10,800 cigarattes

COLOMBO (News 1st):- A Sri Lankan national who attempted to smuggle imported cigarettes from Dubai was arrested at the Katunayake International airport. The arrested individual is a 26-year-old resident of Kilinochchi. The value of the stock of cigarettes taken into police custody is Rs. 650,000. 10,800 cigarettes were discovered carefully concealed in his baggage. The suspect is due to be presented before the Negombo Magistrate Court today (January 17).
