Shot-guns for 4000 officers of the Civil Security Department

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Nearly 4000 members of the Civil Security Department are due to be provided with shot-guns. Director-General of the department, Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris stated that the firearms will be provided to the officers by next week. The firearms will be obtained by the police department. The officers of the Civil Security Department are then due to be deployed for the maintenance of electric fences in areas facing elephant issues. He further said that as of now 2500 officers have already been deployed for the purpose.
