Civil Defense Force to join operation against Human Elephant conflict

Colombo (News 1st) - Minister of Wildlife resources Wimalaweera Dissanayake notes that a new program will be formulated to combat the human-elephant conflict, which brings together the services of the Civil Defense force (CDF) as well as the farmer's organizations. The Minister noted that a 2000 strong force from the CDF will be deployed for this purpose. The program will also enlist the services of 1000 farmers from areas that suffer from the human-elephant conflict.
