Walapane landslide : Three dead

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Three persons, a girl and two women died due to a landslide in Walapane, Nuwara Eliya. Reports suggest that there were four residents in the house and the police and the military personnel have commenced operations to recover the last person. According to the police, the remains of the three females will be handed over to the Walapane Hospital following the post mortem examination. Director of the Disaster Management Centre, Pradeep Kodipilli requested the public to keep watch on possible signs for landslides in their respective areas.
