Section of Southern Expressway declared open

Colombo (News 1st): A 40 kilometer stretch of the Southern Expressway, from Baravakumbuka to Hambantota,  was declared open this morning (November 7) by the Chairman of the Road Development Authority Nihal Sooriyarachchi. Motorists can now enter the Southern expressway from the Baravakumbuka, Sooriyawewa, Mattala and Hambantota Access Road. Meanwhile, the third phase of the Colombo Outer Circular Expressway from Kadawatha to Kerawalapitiya which is 10 kilometers will be declared open this evening. RDA Chairman Nihal Sooriyarachchi speaking to News 1st said motorists can use this stretch of road by paying the respective toll from Saturday (November 9).
