Sajith Premadasa formally invites Gotabaya Rajapaksa for a debate

COLOMBO(News 1st) - Presidential Candidate of the New Democratic Front Sajith Premadasa has written a letter to Presidential Candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Gotabaya Rajapaksa challenging him to a presidential debate. In his letter, the NDF Presidential Candidate said although he invited the SLPP Candidate to take up the challenge of facing the nation at a debate, he is yet to receive a response from his campaign. Presidential Candidate Sajith Premadasa added that in modern democracies around the world, presidential candidates fearlessly debate their policies at impartially moderated debates. He went on to note that today (November 03), such events are broadcast live on television and social media. The NDF candidate said, "Some of your advisors alluded to the absence of a formal written invitation, even in this age of technology and digital communication." He then said, "I, therefore, take this opportunity through this letter, to extend to you such a formal written invitation."
