Thundershowers with lightning in the evening

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology stated thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning is likely to occur in several parts of the island. Areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Northwestern and North-Central provinces and in Mannar, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts will experience thundershowers during the evening. Issuing an advisory on severe lightning, the Met Department warned of strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmph during thundershowers. Heavy rains were also experienced in the city of Colombo this evening.
