UNP Deputy Leader Minister Sajith Premadasa appears at the Presidential Commission investigating fraud and corruption in the present government. 4. The Police states that the two suspects arrested on the charges of attempting to abduct a mother and her daughter, detained under orders and interrogated. 5. The Ministry of Health states that 3317 patients who had been suffering from rat fever were recorded during the past 8 months of this year. 6. Attorney General Dappula De Livera had referred the matter of the conversation between Solicitor General Dilrukshi Dias and Avant-Garde Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi to the Public Services Commission for an inquirer to be appointed. 7. Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered that the eight suspects, including Gotabaya Rajapaksa, be discharged from the charges filed against them by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption regarding the Avant-Garde incident. The verdict had been declared by the Court of Appeal on September 12th. 8.
