1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has forwarded the extradition request for the former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore, on behalf of the Sri Lankan Government. 2. The All Ceylon Bakery Owners' Association states that flour milling companies have agreed to issue wheat flour at the previous price. Thus the Rs. 2 price increase for bread will no longer be in effect. 3. MP Dr Wijeyadasa Rajapakhsa reveals that the Finance Ministry has requested for Rs. 10 billion from the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) to pay the salaries of the state employees as the funds in the government treasury are insufficient for the purpose. 4. The strike action launched by non-academic staff at state universities citing several demands including a solution to salary anomalies enters day four with examinations and weekend courses of certain universities having to be further postponed. 5. Attorney General Dappula de Livera has expressed his disappointment through a letter to the acting IGP C.D. Wickramarathne over the delay in submitting investigation reports on the abduction and assault of journalist Keith Noyahr. In this letter, he states that this investigation has already garnered both local and international attention. 6. A four-member committee has been appointed by the United National Party (UNP) to carefully scrutinize social analysis, reports, opinions, and polls in order to make a decision regarding the party's Presidential candidate. 7. Six suspects including the brother and father of underworld drug kingpin Kanjipani Imran were arrested at the Boosa prison yesterday (September 12) when the police discovered an attempt to discreetly hand over two mobile phones and chargers in a food parcel to the drug lord. 8. During an event to offer and vest the western gateway of the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya with the Maha Sangha, the Asgiriya Chapter of the Siam Sect advised Minister Sajith Premadasa to serve the country despite all criticism. 9.
