M.A. Sumanthiran criticizes Shakthi TV for exposing him

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Speaking at an event held in Batticaloa organized by the Tamil National Alliance, its media spokesperson M.A. Sumanthiran noted that Shakthi TV is out to get him and always attempts to expose his mistakes. What right or qualification does M.A Sumanthiran hold and posses to make such a statement about a media network that is engaging in ensuring the people's right to know. News 1st, will not back down to expose any fault and wrongdoing of any person, devoid of the position they hold. M.A. Sumanthiran further added that all the virtuous deeds he and his fellows have carried out had never been shown by any news networks. He added that media networks always criticize them stating that they are favouring the government. He went on to note that a particular channel is out to get him and he questioned that if they are not to protect the current government, who would be in power today? Even though the TNA MP makes such statements regarding the media, the people who continue to protest in the North and the East for various demands will be able to divulge and articulate very clearly as to what the Parliamentarian has done for the people. The people have not forgotten that it was the President, as the defence minister, who released a majority of the land in the North and the East. The people also remember the recent hunger strike by political prisoners demanding their release. Selvarasa Gajendran, Secretary of the Tamil National People's Alliance noted that TNA has always protected India friendly Ranil Wickremesinghe and his government on numerous occasions.  He added that however they never stood by the Tamil people and instead they voted in favour of all the budgets presented by the government.
