A.C.S. Hameed's lesson to Prime Minister

Colombo (News 1st): The national event to commence the second phase of granting infrastructure facilities under the "Langama Pasala - Hondama Pasala" or the nearest school, best school concept commenced today at the Peradeniya National College of Education. The event was held under the auspices of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. The newly constructed smart classrooms and the auditorium at the Peradeniya National College of Education at a cost of Rs. 20 million were declared open this morning (July 04). The prime minister, as well as the education minister, inspected the academic activities carried out in the smart classroom. A sapling was planted by the Prime Minister at the Peradeniya National College of Education to commemorate the event. Speaking at the event Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that education is important. He noted that when he was attending Parliament back in the day, this was told by Minister Haleem's uncle, A. C. S. Hameed. He noted that Hameed said to invest in education and that is when the country will develop. Premier added that this is what they hope to achieve by introducing smart classrooms. Subject Minister noted when the birds try to go back to their nests to avoid getting wet in the rain, the eagle would soar above the rain clouds. He said that though a lot of people do not understand, a lot of people will speak about the decisions that are taken by the prime minister in the future and say that these things should have been done a long time ago. Technical equipment required for the smart classrooms were also presented at the event.
