Colombo (News 1st): Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called on the Anunayake of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha council, Most Venerable Prof. Kotapitiye Rahula Thero, last evening (June 7).
Following the meeting, the Anunayake thero expressing his views to the media noted that certain politicians are complicating matters in the country, therefore, as responsible representatives, they request both the president and the prime minister, to control such politicians in a responsible and orderly manner.
He added that they must control all politicians and officials who come under their purview and if they fail to control, they cannot go forward in this journey. He said elections may be held in the near future, however, the country cannot stagnate until then.
The Thero believes that if the advice of the Maha Sangha is followed, Sri Lanka will not face such a crisis and if the advice of fellow leaders was also followed this country would have been in a much better position at present. He went onto note they witness many politicians obtaining advice and blessings, however, they proceed with their own agenda.
