COLOMBO (News 1st) - Measures that were being taken to minimize the sea erosion at Kalido beach, Kalutara has been stopped due to the objection by a mob.
Director-General of the Department of Coast Guard, Prabath Chandrakeerthi noted that following the incident they had to remove three backhoes from the location which were assigned to build a ridge at the Kalido beach.
He added that if necessary measures are not taken to avoid sea erosion in the area, there would be serious consequences.
