37 arrested; 15 kg of explosives discovered in island wide operations

COLOMBO (News 1st): Search operations were conducted by the tri-forces and the police today (May 26). Acting spokesperson for the Army, Major General Roshan Seneviratne claimed that 37 people were arrested on suspicion in these raids.

Poruthota - Eight suspects arrested
Periamulla - Three suspects arrested
Narahenpita and Wanathamulla - Two suspects were arrested along with 15kg of explosives and 60 litres of chemicals used to clean tiles.
Mawathagama - 19 suspects arrested with pictures and a laptop including Mohamed Zahran's teachings.
Naththandiya - Four suspects arrested, one identified as a teacher of Mohamed Zahran
Bodunpitiya, Welipenna - One suspect arrested along with four swords
Kegalle - Three swords discovered
