Suspected Assistant Director to Education Ministry under scrutinization

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The police stated that investigations on an Assistant Director to the Ministry of Education who was allegedly believed to have maintained contact with a terrorist organization are underway. The suspect is revealed to be attached to the "Langama Pasala-Hondama Pasala" programme launched by the Ministry of Education. The suspect was arrested in Norochcholai. The documents and the computer at his office in Colombo were taken into the police custody for investigations. The secretary to the Education Ministry, Nihal Ranasinghe noted that the ministry will conduct their investigation against the suspect following the police investigation. Meanwhile, an alleged founder of NTJ; a gem businessman was produced before the court and remanded until May 10th. The police stated that he was at his luxurious residence when he was arrested. The police discovered 591 air rifle ammunition, an SUV,  two passports which did not belong to him, a pile of foreign currency and a few membership fee receipts issued by the NTJ concealed at his residence.
