Customs arrest six in Rs 4.5 bn beedi leaf fraud

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Customs states that a special investigation commenced on the Rs. 4.5 billion fraud of importing beedi leaves. The spokesperson for Customs Sunil Jayarathne noted that while six suspects were arrested over the incident and that four of them have already been remanded. He added that the incident is being investigated under section 6 of the ordinance.
