Cabinet brokers the sale of National resources - MP Anura Kumara

Colombo (News 1st) - Leader of JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake speaking in Parliament on Friday (Sept 21) stated that the cabinet's decisions on selling off national resources had reached dangeorus levels. MP Anura Kumara explained that the Trincomalee Oil Tank Farm is one of the most important resources in the country and that there is an attempt to hand it over to an Indian company. He stated that this decision was reached on 07th August 2018. Then the MP stated that this same cabinet decided on 01 June 2016  to use USD 10 Million for the development of the Oil Tank Farm which will be take 04 years to complete. He raises a concern as to why the cabinet paper approved on 01st June 2016 was cancelled later. MP Anura Kumara stated that when attempts were made to renovate the oil tank farm, an "unseen force" halted it. The Parliamentarian stated that Sri Lanka is at a risk of losing National resources. He goes on to state that the cabinet is brokering the sale of National resources. MP Anura Kumara also stated that he is aware that the subject Minister Arjuna Ranatunge and Deputy Minister Anoma Gamage are unable to respond to these comments and that is why they avoid the Parliamentary sessions.
