'Uda Gammana' Model Village vested on the Public

Colombo (News 1st) -  The 104th Model Village constructed by the 'samata sevana yali pibidena uda Gammana' Program, was vested with the public today (August 10). The event was graced by the Deputy Leader of the United National Party, Minister Sajith Premadasa. The Model village constructed in Kerankatiya in Pilana Akmeemana in Galle was named Siyapathagam. This was constructed at a cost of Rs. 18.4 million and comprises of 25 houses. The model village is equipped with access to clean drinking water, Electricity, and consists of entry roads and a network of internal roads. In line with the opening ceremony, deeds were presented to the beneficiaries of the project and a number of other families were presented with housing loans. MP Sajith Premadasa stated that before 2015 what was in operation was the revolution of the previous regime's Royal Family. He stated that today the rural strength is activated. He stated that the previous regime used the military victory to line their pockets with dollars while stealing in pounds. Further went on to state that they pretend to be saints now after ransacking dozens of national resources. The Minister states that the rural community wasn't empowered then unlike now.
