COLOMBO (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has taken steps to deploy approximately 4,000 buses back into service starting today, as the disaster situation begins to ease.
Deputy General Manager (Operations) P.H.R.D. Chandrasiri said that around 2,500 buses are planned to operate for long-distance services.
Meanwhile, a special bus service has also been introduced to accommodate passengers affected by disruptions to railway services during the disaster.
According to Sri Lanka Railways Spokesperson Asanka Samarawira, 37 trains that departed from Colombo could not return due to the impact of the disaster, including 18 office trains.
