Narco Boat Seized In High Seas Brought Ashore

COLOMBO (News 1st): A local multi-day vessel suspected of transporting narcotics, intercepted by the Sri Lanka Navy in the western sea areas of the island, has now been brought ashore.

According to Navy Media Spokesperson Commander Buddhika Sampath, the vessel is to be brought to the Dikkowita Fisheries Harbour, where the sacks suspected of containing narcotics will be handed over to the Narcotics Bureau.

The Navy conducted the raid on saturday (01) following a tip-off.

Six fishermen aboard the vessel at the time of the operation have been taken into custody.
