MP Jagath Vithana's Son Remanded Over Illegal Jeep

COLOMBO (News 1st):Rasika Buddhika Vithana,son of Parliamentarian Jagath Vithana who was arrested in connection with an investigation into an illegal jeep, has been remanded until the 1st of next month.

He was produced before the Mathugama Magistrate’s Court today.

He was taken into custody yesterday afternoon in Mathugama by officers of the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit.

Meanwhile, police say that a statement is to be recorded from the daughter of Parliamentarian Rohitha Abeygunawardena, who is believed to be the former owner of the jeep in question.
