The highly-anticipated biopic on Sri Lankan cricketing legend Muttiah Muralitharan, titled "800," is set to hit theaters soon.
The first look poster was unveiled on the cricketer's birthday, creating a buzz amongst fans and film enthusiasts alike. Madhurr Mittal, renowned for his role as Salim Malik in "Slumdog Millionaire," has stepped in to essay the role of Muralitharan, replacing Vijay Sethupathi, who withdrew from the project due to public pressure.
Directed by MS Sripathy, "800" takes its name from Muralitharan's astounding record of 800 wickets in test cricket.
The movie is slated for release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
The official Twitter handle of Sony Music South posted the first look poster, describing the film as "the untold story of a legend who spun his way to the top."
Mittal expressed his excitement at portraying the cricketer on the silver screen through his Instagram handle.
The film's revival after a tumultuous period underscores the resilience of the entertainment industry and highlights the importance of artistic expression.
The biopic promises to take the audience on an unforgettable journey through the life and career of one of cricket's most celebrated and controversial figures.
