Today is International Beach Cleanup Day

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Today marks the International Beach Cleanup Day.

The Marine Environment Protection Authority stated that concurrently, the Marine Resources Conservation Week will also begin from today.

Accordingly, the Marine Environment Protection Authority stated that around 200 cleanup programs are being organized in identified coastal areas and lagoons covering all 14 coastal districts.

The main beach cleanup program is scheduled to be held at the Vaikkala Sindanthriya Beach.
