Parliament to meet on Tuesday (9) afternoon

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Parliament is scheduled to convene today (9) at 1.00 PM at the parliament complex.

It was decided at the party leaders' meeting held on 8th August 2022 that the adjournment debate on the government's policy statement presented by the President in Parliament will be held on the 9th, 10th, and 12th.

Accordingly, the Parliament is scheduled to meet on the 9th at 1.00 pm and the debate will continue until 4.30 pm. 

Also, the Parliament is scheduled to meet on the 10th and 12th from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm. 

Since this debate is an adjournment debate, no voting will be held at the end of the debate.

The amendment bill with regard to the Appropriation Act No. 30 of 2021 for the year 2022 will be presented to the Parliament on the 9th and the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution will be presented to the Parliament on the 10th.
