March 11, 2010: Convenor of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Mahajana Wing parliamentarian Mangala Samaraweera said at a media briefing yesterday that apart from the Gampaha district leader, no other SLFP Mahajana Wing member had joined hands with the government.
“It was reported in the newspapers that the government had said that a large number of people from our party including 31 district leaders and our administrative secretary have met with the president and left. I would like to state clearly that apart from the Gampaha district leader, no one else has joined this government,” said Mangala Samaraweera.
“We will form a government from the certain majority we will receive on the 8th, especially from the Northern and Eastern provinces.
"Furthermore, we believe that we will receive the assistance of the Trophy as well after the election, in order to establish our own government,” he added.
