March 09, 2010: Three children, all below four years, have been abandoned by their mother at a hospital in Pussellawa and police have begun a search for the mother.
According to police, the three children were found near the Wanugapitiya hospital in Pussellawa.
The three children were produced in court and were admitted to Gampola hospital. A hospital spokesman said they were not in good health and continued to receive indoor treatment.
Police said that until the mother or a custodian was found, the children would be handed over to the custody of the Probationary and Child Care Department.
