rajitha_SJuly 31, 2010: Tourism industry, urban development and fisheries industry are the main components which will contribute greatly to make Sri Lanka the wonder of Asia. Two of these sectors are under the brothers of the President and one is under me, says the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatics Resources Dr. Rajitha Senarathne.

He made this statement attending a function organized to lay the foundation stone for the fisheries office in the Kalutara district.

“The country's economic growth should be 10 per cent just like that of China. You all know how the economic growth in China is. We too need to have such an economic growth.”

“The sectors that mainly contribute to the economic development are the tourism industry, fisheries industry and urban development. These three sectors will contribute greatly to the development of the economy and to make the country of the wonder of Asia.

“Then you understand that who has been entrusted with these sectors. Two have been handed over to the brothers of the President and I have been entrusted with the other. Therefore the other two ministries also function just like this,” said Minister Senarathne.
