TITLES NOT NEEDED TO SERVE THE PEOPLE: SAJITH

sajith_pMay 17, 2010: Titles are not needed to serve the people, says United National Party Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa.

Speaking at a function in Kandy yesterday, Sajith said that they had proven it in the Hambantota district.

United National Party Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara was also present at the public meeting, organized in the Sunilagama area in Kandy.

“You don’t have to be the President, the Prime Minister, or a Minister. You don’t need a title to serve the people, in order to serve the people. If you have a name, a background and if you are not lazy, it does not matter whether you’re in power or not, you have the ability to serve the people,” said Sajith Premadasa.

He noted that they had proven that in the Hambanthota district.

“We did not sling mud in order to save the dignity of Hambanthota. We did not engage in unethical politics. We did not criticize the government. We engaged in rightful politics and revealed the truth,” he said.
