The US intelligence report released on January 6, said that the Russian President Vladimir Putin sought to help Donald Trump win the presidential election.
However, the US President-elect has accused US intelligence agencies of leaking allegations that Russia has compromising material on him.
President-elect Donald Trump said for the first time Wednesday he believes Russia was responsible for hacking ahead of the election but contemptuously rejected allegations that Moscow mounted a campaign to compromise him.
He added that Russia is not the only nation that hacks US targets and accused Democrats of not having sufficient cyber-security programmes.
The press conference, which he spoke at was ideally scheduled for Trump to give details about his business affairs but was dominated by the allegations of compromising material.
