Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick cemented Real Madrid’s victory as they managed to beat Japanese side Kashima Antlers.
The Antlers gave Real a scare and were thorn in the LaLiga side.
Real took the lead in the ninth minute when Karim Benzema found the bottom left corner of the net,
Gaku Shibasaki scored either side of half-time to put Kashima in front but Ronaldo levelled from the penalty spot on the hour mark after Lucas Vazquez was fouled by Shuto Yamamoto.
Ronaldo managed to equlaize the score when convereted a penalty. He once again found the back of the net off of Benzema’s through ball which put Real ahead during Extra-time and sealed the win with another during the 104th minute
The victory ensured a second Club World Cup for Real their and extended their unbeaten run to 37 games in all competitions.It also means nine of the past 10 winners of the competition have come from Europe.
