COLOMBO (News 1st): The Public Service Commission has taken steps to resolve issues faced by teachers over the Efficiency Bar Examinations.

The Ministry of Education said the decision was taken after considering difficulties faced by teachers in national and provincial schools following the introduction of the Efficiency Bar Examination system under the revised Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service Minute.

Accordingly, teachers promoted to Grade I of the Teachers’ Service between October 23, 2022, and June 30, 2025, will be exempted from completing the third Efficiency Bar Examination.

Teachers promoted to a higher grade on the condition that they complete an Efficiency Bar Examination required for their previous grade will also be exempted from that examination.

Meanwhile, officers promoted after June 30, 2025, but before the Efficiency Bar Examination for their respective grade is held, will not be required to sit the Modular Efficiency Bar Examination.
