‘Ratmalane Saima’ Handed Over To Peradeniya Police For Further Investigation

COLOMBO (News 1st): Dhanushka Kaushalya, alias "Ratmalane Saima," an organized criminal who was arrested in Malaysia and brought back to the island, has been handed over to the Peradeniya Police for further investigation.

Police said that a Red Notice had been issued for the suspect, Ratmalane Saima, and he was brought to the country yesterday afternoon by a special police team led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Rohan Olugala.

They were arrested during a special operation conducted jointly by the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Unit and the Malaysian Police.

Among the three suspects, one has been identified as a key associate of the powerful organized criminal known as "Kanjipani Imran."

The suspect is a resident of Ratmalana and is 41 years old.

Cases have been filed against the suspect for abducting a person at gunpoint in Peradeniya in 2014, assaulting him, and causing grave injuries, as well as for committing murder by shooting a person in the Peradeniya area in 2016.

Further investigations are also underway regarding the two individuals aged 35 and 31, residents of Ratmalana, who were with the suspect when he was arrested in Malaysia and brought back to Sri Lanka.
