Major General Udugama Appointed Sri Lanka Army’s 70th Chief of Staff

COLOMBO (News 1st); Major General U.K.D.D.P. Udugama has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, becoming the 70th officer to hold the position.

The appointment was formally confirmed when Army Commander Lieutenant General Nilantha Premaratne presented the letter of appointment to Major General Udugama during an official ceremony held at Army Headquarters on August 4.

Major General Udugama was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army to receive the appointment letter, marking his elevation to one of the most senior leadership positions within the Sri Lanka Army.
