COLOMBO (News 1st); In a moment that symbolically bridges humanitarian action with spiritual guidance, the Gammadda team today met the Chief Prelates of the Asgiriya and Malwatte Chapters of the Siam Sect in Kandy, formally briefing the venerable theras on the progress of the first two phases of the “Care & Dare” national recovery initiative — and seeking their blessings as Phase III begins.

The delegation met the Most Venerable Chief Prelates of the Asgiriya Chapter and the Malwatte Chapter, outlining the transition of Care & Dare from immediate rescue and relief, to structured recovery — and now toward long-term rebuilding.

Leader of Gammadda, Chevaan Daniel, stated that he briefed the prelates on the international partnership with the Minderoo Foundation, including its AU$1 million support and the measurable impact it has had in strengthening recovery camps across affected districts.

Both Chief Prelates expressed appreciation for the scale and sincerity of the effort, commending the initiative’s service to vulnerable communities, and extended their blessings for the success of Phase III.

The Gammadda team also met the Deputy Chief Prelates of both Chapters, providing a comprehensive update on the programme’s progress and future direction.

As Care & Dare moves into its rebuilding phase, today’s meetings stand as a reminder that national recovery is not only about infrastructure and aid — but about moral stewardship, unity, and collective purpose. With the blessings of the Maha Sangha, the next chapter begins not merely with resources, but with resolve.
