AKD Holds High‑Level Bilateral Talks With Leaders of Brazil, UAE, France & Bhutan

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Dissanayake held a series of bilateral discussions on Thursday (19) with global leaders on the side-lines of the AI Impact 2026 Summit currently taking place in New Delhi.

In one engagement, President Dissanayake met with the President of Brazil, Lula da Silva, for bilateral discussions focused on strengthening ties between the two nations.

He also held a separate meeting with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Their discussion took place on the side-lines of the summit and centred on cooperation between Sri Lanka and Abu Dhabi.

Another high-level meeting was held between President Dissanayake and French President Emmanuel Macron. The discussion, also conducted on the side-lines of the AI Impact 2026 Summit, provided an opportunity for the two leaders to exchange views on bilateral relations.

Additionally, President Dissanayake met with the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, this afternoon. Their bilateral engagement took place in New Delhi as part of the summit’s side-line meetings.

All four discussions were held on the same evening, marking a significant day of diplomatic engagement for Sri Lanka during the AI Impact 2026 Summit.
