Brazil Donates 10 High-Capacity Purification Units to Sri Lanka’s Flood Relief Efforts

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka has received further assistance to its flood relief and recovery efforts following Cyclone Ditwah, with the Government of Brazil donating ten high-capacity Water Purification Units.

The formal handover of documents took place today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where Monica Maria Meirelles Nasser, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Brazil in Colombo, presented the donation.

Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath expressed deep appreciation for Brazil’s timely assistance, describing it as a reflection of the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

The donation comes at a critical time as Sri Lanka continues recovery operations in areas severely impacted by Cyclone Ditwah, with clean water supply being one of the most urgent needs.
