COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory following a 6.6 magnitude earthquake that struck Northern Sumatra, Indonesia at 10:26 AM today (27 November).

Although no tsunami warning has been issued for Sri Lanka, authorities have urged people living near and along coastal areas to remain vigilant and follow official updates.
