Police Check 66 Vehicles in Kottawa Raid — Drugs and Contraband Found

COLOMBO (News 1st); A targeted special operation near the Kottawa interchange of the Southern Expressway, led to the arrest of two suspects in possession of illegal narcotics, including 60 milligrams of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) and two bundles of duty-free cigarettes suspected to be smuggled.

The operation, led by the Kelaniya Division Crimed Investigation Unit, involved a large-scale vehicle inspection effort.

38 buses, 28 motor vehicles and vans, were thoroughly checked during the operation.

A total of 101 police officers participated in the coordinated effort.
