COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) says that the laboratory report on the chemical substances discovered in Kandana, suspected to be Ice or Methamphetamine, will be released within this week.

The Board added that laboratory testing of the seized chemical substances is currently underway.

NDDCB further confirmed that the chemical substances previously discovered in Middeniya and Netolpitiya in Tangalle were identified as Methamphetamine, commonly known as Ice.

NDDCB added that the substance found in the possession of a Moldovan national in Weligama was confirmed to be Mephedrone, a highly dangerous synthetic drug.

Based on information revealed by members of an organized crime gang arrested in Indonesia, large stocks of chemical substances suspected to be Ice were recently found in Middeniya, Netolpitiya in Tangalle, and in Kandana.

Samples from these seizures were sent to the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board for laboratory analysis.
