Attorney General’s Department to Request CID Report on Nilantha Jayawardena

COLOMBO (News 1st);The Attorney General's Department is preparing to request the investigation report from the Criminal Investigation Department concerning former Director of the State Intelligence Service and former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police, Nilantha Jayawardena.

The department stated that the formal request will be sent to the CID in the coming days.

Further action will be determined after a thorough review of the investigation report.

The National Police Commission took immediate steps to remove Nilantha Jayawardena from the police service following his conviction on all charges.

At the time of the Easter Sunday attacks, Nilantha Jayawardena was serving as the acting Director of the State Intelligence Service.
