Inquiry Committee’s Report on IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon to Be Submitted Next Week

COLOMBO(News 1st); The report of the inquiry committee on IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon is set to be submitted to the Speaker next week. 

The committee which was appointed to investigate and report on alleged misconduct and serious abuse of power by Deshabandu Tennakoon recently concluded its evidence‑taking phase.

Supreme Court Justice Preethi Padman Surasena serves as the Chairman of the committee. The other members are retired Justice Neil Iddawala, the Chairman of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, and E.W.M. Lalith Ekanayake, the Chairman of the National Police Commission.
