AKD Engages with Sri Lanka’s Injured Soldiers

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the Mihindu Seth Madura wellness center in Attidiya this morning, where he personally inquired into the well-being of injured war veterans receiving residential care.

The President engaged warmly with the veterans, sharing kind words and listening to their stories.

He also took time to appreciate their artwork and creative expressions, acknowledging their resilience and spirit.

Reflecting on the devastating impact of the 30-year civil war, President Dissanayake emphasized that such a tragedy must never be allowed to repeat.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of disabled veterans and their families, pledging continuous support and resources to uplift their lives.

During the visit, the President also held discussions with the medical professionals and staff at Mihindu Seth Madura, focusing on enhancing healthcare and service facilities for the veterans. Special attention was given to identifying additional support that could be extended to improve their quality of life.
