Sri Lanka’s Inflation Drops to 1.1% in August, Lowest in Recent Months

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's consumer price inflation dropped to 1.1 per cent year-on-year in August from 2.5 per cent in July, said the Department of Census and Statistics.
Official data showed that on a monthly baiss, the Year-on-Year inflation of the food group decreased to 2.3 % in August 2024, from 2.9% in July 2024.
In addition, the Year-on-Year inflation of the non-food groip decreased to 0.2% in August 21024 from 2.2% in July 2024.
