COLOMBO (News 1st); National People's Power presidential candidate, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has voiced his concerns over the reactions of opposition political groups ahead of the Presidential Election, which he says has already been won by him.
Speaking to supporters, Dissanayake claimed that the opposition is distressed and resorting to conspiracies to undermine his party's success.
Dissanayake emphasized that the general populace has historically rejected racism and religious extremism, and he criticized opposition figures for their alleged hypocrisy.
He pointed out that some monks associated with Sajith Premadasa's campaign have made controversial statements, including calls to do away with the national flag and remove the ninth article of the constitution.
"Today, these people are helpless to the point where their election campaign is limited only to evil. One is an expression of helplessness. An expression of distress," Dissanayake stated.
He also accused Ranil Wickramasinghe of contributing to the country's economic instability, citing significant borrowing during Wickramasinghe's tenure.
Dissanayake assured his supporters that the National People's Power is committed to rebuilding the economy and urged the current leaders to step aside.
