University Non-Academic Staff Allowance Increase Proposals Head to Ministerial Sub-Committee

COLOMBO (News 1st)- The Ministry of Education announced that two Cabinet papers proposing an allowance increase for university non-academic staff will be submitted to the Ministerial Sub-Committee on May 8.

According to a Ministry of Education statement, the university system has faced significant challenges since 2016 due to the lack of effective solutions to various issues.

The submitted cabinet papers aim to address these issues for all 12 levels of staff within the state university system, with implementation targeted for July 2022.

The proposals also call for a proportional increase in the monthly allowance for non-academic staff, aligning it with the pay raise given to academic staff since January 1, 2024.
